23 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੀ 112ਵੀਂ ਵਰੇਗੰਢ ਦੇ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਕਲੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੌਲੈਂਡ ਪਾਰਕ ਸਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਮੈਮੋਰੀਅਲ ਸਮਾਰਕ ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ ਤੱਕ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਰੈਲੀ ਕੱਢੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ।
ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਬਾਦ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਤੱਟ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਊ ਵੈਸਟਮਨਿਸਟਰ ਨੇ ਸੋ ਦਰੁ ਰਹਿਰਾਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਪਰੰਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੋਈ।ਨਸਲਵਾਦ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਇਹ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਕਦਮ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਕਲੱਬ ਤੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 23 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ, ਸੰਗਤੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਹਾਜ ਹੈਰੀਟੇਜ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਕਲੱਬ, ਟਰੱਕਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਟਾਨ ਕੋਟ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ, ਜਿਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੇ ਸਹੀ ਪੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਜਲਦੀ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੰਗੀ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਸੋਧ ਵੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਹਾਜ ਦੇ ਮੁਸਾਫਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।।

With gratitude to Waheguru, the Sikh Motorcycle Club led a commemorative ride from Holland Park in Surrey to the memorial in Vancouver. Guru Nanak Jahaz was remembered as the first floating Gurdwara Sahib whose sacred presence blessed the ocean.
Upon arrival, the Sangat recited Rehras Sahib, followed by Ardas. We remembered Baba Gurdit Singh, Harnam Singh Khalra and all the passengers of Guru Nanak Jahaz. From Harnam Singh Khalra to his grandson, Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra, we honoured a continuing lineage of courage, truth and sacrifice and remembered all the Shaheeds who carried that light forward.
More than 90 members of the Sangat gathered at the Guru Nanak Jahaz Memorial to mark the 112th anniversary of July 23, 1914.
We gathered as Sikhs and as Canadians to honour our pioneers and affirm that the legacy of Guru Nanak Jahaz belongs within Canada’s national memory. The exclusion of 1914 remains a dark chapter in Canadian history; coming together to remember it truthfully was a proud Canadian moment.
The Sikh Motorcycle Club announced that July 23 will now be permanently marked on its annual calendar and commemorated each year in Chardi Kala.
